Apart from the few above mentioned things/cons we experienced these do not spoil our overall enjoyment of staying at

The accommodation was easy to find and the entrance instructions were very good. It is ideally situated in the centre of Knaresborough with inexpensive public car-parking very close by. Disabled parking was road-side near the Market Place car park. There are lots of shops and eateries nearby as well. The whole apartment was very clean, tastefully furnished and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen is beautifully modern with good quality cutlery etc, and spotlessly clean. Thank you for the use of the fan - it was a Lifesaver in the humid heatwave through the night especially! We all slept well in the comfortable beds - I loved the gentle-scent of the freshly laundered bed-linen - this being important to me because I have breathing difficulties - Thank you! The bathroom was modern with high quality fittings and was spotlessly clean as well. :-)

− Perhaps some attention could be given to the ‘courtyard’ area … to make it more attractive looking, please? … as my heart sank a little as we entered it from the arched passageway - hopefully that is just a work-in-progress. There were lots of nice, quirky little touches decor-wise in the apartment, but I’m afraid we didn’t like the pictures of the military/animal figures in the bedrooms. They were a bit scary for us. Through the nights of our stay, we were disturbed by drunken, arguing revellers in the High Street in the early hours along with the heat-wave thunderstorm. These things did not spoil the experience of our stay, and we know that they are out of the control of the apartment’s owner, and so they would not deter us from staying at Berry‘s Retreat again another time. There were two issues we had with the bathroom shower, in that the centre control dial had already fallen off before our arrival - am visually impaired therefore I couldn’t tell what its use was for, but when I went to have a shower, I found out when I had already got shower gel all over me, that I could not regulate the water temperature. … and so because the water was so scaldingly hot, I wasn’t able to rinse the suds off myself. I’m sure this is an urgent job to be done, and put right.

The house was on a great location, very easy to acess and use.

− The house had the bedroom facing the main street with no way to isolate the noise coming from outside.

Fabulous stay in a central location

Very modern and everything seemed really new. Lovely living area with soft sofas. Very comfy bed, rooms were huge. Very well stocked kitchen. Central location.

− Nothing at all, it was fabulous.

Pleasant stay in the heart of Knaresborough

Modern, spacious, clean apartment in the centre of Knaresborough. Near to shops, bars, restaurants and railway station. Parking a 7 min walk away was convenient and cheap

− Lacking in those little extras that make a difference. No welcome pack ie milk , bread. No toiletries in the bathroom. WiFi could be better. Bathroom ceiling needs painting following upstairs flood. Entrance disappointing with smelly commercial bin outside

Perfect stay, perfect flat, perfect location. Would happily stay here again.

Very clean, modern, spacious, much bigger than what the photos suggest. Very helpful hosts

− Not much we can say to improve! Maybe just to stock up a bit better on basics like toilet paper, bin bags, kitchen roll, coffee pods......we bought them all during our stay.
