Greyhound Cottage is a stunning property and beautifully presented. The spacious suite (a converted brew house) was full of charm and historic features with all the conveniences you could require. The extensive and accessible garden is very well maintained and provides wonderful views from the accommodation and the breakfast room in the main house. Our hosts, Kay and Doug were charming and most helpful, the breakfast was one of the best we have encountered in both presentation and quality. The welcome notice, with our names, adjacent to the very convenient car space was a nice touch and set the standard for our stay. This is most definitely a 'must return' location.

Kay and Doug are the best hosts. Everything is perfect, not least the breakfast in your own personal dining room. Our fourth visit to our go-to local escape.

The hosts were so welcoming and friendly. The suite had bags of character and the bed was so comfortable. One of the best places I have stayed in. It was clean and there was everything there you needed for your stay. The attention to detail was incredible. The breakfast was amazing, beautifully set out overlooking the garden and cooked to perfection 👌 lots of little personal touches which were lovely. It was my husband's birthday so they left him a card and present. Which means a lot. I wish we could have stayed longer. The little village had a friendly pub and a brilliant mini market for anything you had forgotten.

Girlfriend didn't want to leave

We weren't quite sure what to expect from this bed and breakfast property. In the end, I was concerned I might have to manually remove the girlfriend from the property, she liked it that much. The Greyhound is a beautiful piece of living history. If you have the same room we had, you will have to duck your head when you go in and out of the bathroom - ya know, people were much shorter when they built the place. I suppose the owners could spend thousands and thousands of pounds to resolve that issue, but I really hope they don't, as such potential desecration should really not be allowed. So remember to duck your head in some places. It is worth it. We would have been more than happy to watch England's dull performance against Panama on the big telly in the bedroom, but we went for a walk down the road to get some fish and chips, and on the way back we stopped off in The Angel, a little pub a stone's throw from the Greyhound Inn. There we were adopted for the evening by a fun loving gang of locals. We watched the football in the big tent they had out the back. We couldn't have been happier. But then we were made happier the next morning. We came down around 9am to a breakfast table set in such a way that it reminded me of that bit in A Christmas Carol where Scrooge is visited by the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come, and a great feast is laid out before them. OK, it was breakfast and not a feast, but everything you would want and more was there. It could not have been done better. Already before that point we had decided we will be visiting again. We came across from Warwickshire for the county fair and concours at Heveningham Hall. We also visited Bury St Edmunds, and the National Trust property at Long Melford. So we had a reason to visit Suffolk, otherwise we would never have known a out this place. But whatever reason you have to be in the area, if you stay at the Greyhound Inn, you'll be giving yourself a very special treat.

− The downside to experiences like this is that it makes the following week and the return to work perhaps a bit harder. But we can look forward to going back.
