A real gem in a quiet location
10.0Wasn't quite sure what to expect of a Community Run Pub and Hotel in a very quiet village but really hit the mark on all counts. Looked very much like it had recently been refurbished, several different areas to eat and a beer garden with gorgeous views. The menu choice was standard pub fare but definitely homemade and nicely presented and reasonably priced. We booked a bigger bedroom and it had a huge bathroom and all fittings were a high standard . Particular call out for the staff, especially the barman who went out of his way to give us some excellent driving road recommendations.

8.0Gluten free menu - as a Coeliac I had lots of options, which I wasn't expecting outside a city centre
− We had the same room as the year before; it's showing some signs of wear. Grout stains, handles held on with Blu-Tack. The breakfast was just OK, was better last year (to my memory) - so we chose to eat elsewhere for breakfast.
Aangenaam verrast. Jammer dat we maar één nacht hadden geboekt.

10.0Glan Yr Afon is a beautiful building in a lovely village. We stayed in room 4 which was excellent. The bed was comfortable and fan provided to combat the exceptional heat was very quiet and effective. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast choices are great and the restaurant food is superb. If you stay here and want to eat in the restaurant, do book ahead as it is very popular. Thoroughly recommend this as a place to stay and dine.
Lovely stay, quiet comfortable room
10.0Lovely quiet village location with easy access to places we wished to visit. A nice large car park.
