10.0The quiet location.
What a beautiful place to stay and unwind! Great location !
10.0Beautiful setting, well equipped hut, everything you need, had a lovely stay here
− Nothing
We would come back here in a heartbeat, and would absolutely recommend anyone else to stay here too.
10.0The shepherd's hut has everything you would need for a little weekend away. It's on a working dairy farm which really makes you feel at one with nature and the surroundings. We were greeted on arrival by the host who was super friendly and welcoming, and then farm dogs came to say hello too. The farm dogs do wander over but they keep themselves to themselves mostly. The location is great for exploring Lydford and the surrounding areas, Lydford Gorge is a must see. The view out of the main window is so lovely seeing the cows across the fields, if it is a clear night I bet there would be some gorgeous stars when it's dark! Unfortunately it was cloudy for us. We travelled from Oxfordshire with our Frenchie for a quiet weekend reset and we regret not booking longer than two nights, we were sad to leave!
− The access road is very bumpy (not potholes, just bumpy!!) and gravelly but as long as you take your time, it's absolutely fine :) It gets very warm and stuffy in the hut when you're cooking with the hot plate but that is to be expected in such an enclosed space!
Great quiet hideway
9.0Welcomed as we arrived. Lovely big space with everything we needed. Added extras in the fridge. The view is stunning and peaceful. We cooked 2 evenings. Lots in the local area to enjoy. Good local pubs.
Amazing stay really enjoyed it such stunning countryside
10.0Good location for walking
Hidden gem.
10.0Upon arrival we received a lovely warm welcome from our host.. The shepherds hut was way above all expectations. Every need had been catered for. Loved the extra touches with the drinks, flapjack and biscuits. Even with the weather against us, this wasn't a problem as the hut was so cosy and warm. A real gem, can't wait to return.
− Going home!
