Nicely appointed, quiet, lovely location, owner friendly

− Hard to find anything wrong! The armchairs / sitting area could be more comfy and homely. It was also hard to work in the dining area as no power sockets. But these were in no way game changers for us.

Good location but not great for us with the dog.

Lovely location. Clean kitchen, living room and bedrooms.

− Found the bathroom door very difficult to lock and door wouldn't not close without using the lock. Rather run down bathroom. Sofa tiny and other chairs not at all relaxing. Really not a very relaxing living area and found the property pictures online misleading. We came with our dog and were rather shocked to find that the area for our use with him was really just the drive of the main house so he had no freedom due to cars driving in and out of the drive. This property is the end of a larger home (assuming owners) . Felt terribly uncomfortable standing in my PJs at 6am with the dog and didn't feel I could just relax and sit a chair in the area allocated on the drive because if being so overlooked by the main house. Heatwave so windows all ooen. The cottage is in a lovely hamlet, the kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms comfortable but the limited freedom for the dog (who is extremely well trained but not very savvy with cars) was an issue for us and after a very busy day at an event we wanted to have a big relax and felt we couldn't so decided to cut our stay short and drive home. Communication prior to our visit was all excellent. This very honest review is based on us being very frequent Airbnb and Booking.con users and on this occasion it just didn't offer us the relaxation that we hoped we had paid for.

Set in a truly beautiful and peaceful hamlet. Lovely walks from the property. Adequate room for a comfortable stay. Very clean.

− A couple of minor issues. The main bed frame needs tightening up as it squeaked loudly and the hot water is only just hot enough.

Self catering

− Too many instructions!! Asked to put rubbish out but bins not clearly labelled. Would have been nice to have a welcome pack, as I've had at every other cottage I've stayed at. Host did say any problems knock on my door, but no address given?!

Good location and quiet

− Red Kite booking team - the damage protection system is broken and so unnecessary! I organised the credit card settings to take damage protection but I was then bombarded with messages on emails and text. Reminders in red to organise damage protection which I had already done weeks before . Some texts coming past midnight. They then took over £600 on my credit card - they had taken damage protection twice. This was repaid, but the stress and extra time I had to do to get it sorted was stress I didn’t need. They have acknowledged my frustration but have not offered any extra solution or plan to let me know how this won’t happen again next time. I hope it doesn’t happen for you.
