Wonderful place! I think it’s the best in the whole area. I rode a scooter a lot, and I haven’t seen a more beautifully located homestay. You can get there by raft or walk through the fields. Scooter rental is available just across the street. It is a family business run by a kind, resourceful, and hardworking woman who often greets guests with a smile. The dog and cat will keep you company and make your stay even more enjoyable-especially if you spoil them with some food (the cat is particularly delightful). The animals are wonderful, and the surrounding nature is peaceful, filled with the soothing sounds of wildlife. The beautiful lake and the fairy-tale-like view of the house make this place truly special. I highly recommend it!

Lan's Villa is a lovely place to stay near Ban Gioc Waterfall. Lan's Villa is different than Lan's Guesthouse, however, they are both owned by Lan who is a very cool and interesting woman who is very interested in hiking & the outdoors so great to get recommendations from her. The guesthouse and villa are a 5 minute drive from each other, and the villa is a bit closer to the waterfall. The villa is set in a pretty valley along a river, you can either take their little boat to reach the guesthouse or walk 5 minutes from the road. If you have suitcases, the boat will be your best bet. We enjoyed relaxing in the garden after sightseeing. They offer dinner on site and were able to accommodate our vegan diet. We booked on booking.com (obviously) but I do recommend reaching out to Lan directly, as you'll likely find more & potentially nicer rooms available than what's shown here. Booking.com showed only a Budget Room available on the nights we stayed, however, I do believe some of their nicer rooms were free that night which is unfortunate as we would have loved to have booked one of them. The demographic that stays here are mostly people on tours, so potentially independent travellers stay at Lan's guesthouse property instead.

− We had an overall positive experience however small things to note. When we sat out in the garden, we were allowed to only sit in some areas (I believe so we don't obstruct the view of certain rooms?). We booked this location mostly to appreciate the view, so that rule was a bit surprising. Also, the incredible mountain views surrounding the property can't actually be seen from the garden area/most rooms. When you're in the garden, you're actually looking at the river, and road behind it. None of this is a big deal and we overall enjoyed our stay, but just thought it was worth mentioning.

Beautiful area and very peaceful. The room was clean and comfortable. Everyone was really friendly and I felt very at home here. Definitely recommend.

Clean and comfortable room. Hot showers. Friendly staff. Delicious meals. Beautiful setting.

− Can easily hear conversations and snoring from other rooms. Dining room is cold during winter.
