Well equipped, spacious but poorly managed
7.0Spacious kitchen, lounge and bedroom for two guests. Decently equipped kitchen for cooking meals. Plenty of parking space. Two terraces (one gives onto neighbouring car park but well equipped and nice to have in the summer). Close enough to Abergavenny by car. Next door to a golf course. Hard to find walks from the doorstep so a car is essential it seems. Nice to have bathrobes. Binder with local information and walks nearby is appreciated and useful.
− Not up to the standard previous reviews would make you think it is at. Host needs to take responsibility for the failure to offer a decent service and stop blaming the cleaners. If I'm staying one night somewhere I do not want to be on the phone all night asking for basic necessities like hand-soap, a bath mat, shampoo, salt (because the shaker was empty) when they are listed in the ad. Failure to do so is misleading and tells me that the accommodation wasn't readied to host guests, which taints the whole stay because you then you start wondering if the cleaners also bothered with changing the bed sheets or leaving clean bathrobes for instance... Received clear communication about checking in but the very long email also contained information about how to light the fire and turn on the heating, which again fails to demonstrate strong organisational skills and the personal touch that makes a place stand-out and deserve its 9+ rating. Definitely no Prosecco and welsh cakes upon arrival, picture should be removed as it is misleading. Bedroom could do with a proper black-out blind; the blind when we were there lacked a slat. Recommend bringing a face-mask. Overall very disappointing.

9.0Very clean and comfortable cottage. Great place for walking and hiking.
Mooi locatie
Definitely would go back.
9.0Proximity to UNESCO site; Big Pit; Dolaucothi gold mine; Skirrid Inn; Gospel Pass; Llanthony Priory. Comfortable bed; good kitchen & washing machine; good bathroom.
− The fans just coped with the coincidental humidity, 34 - 36 Celsius heatwave. If they persist a heat pump might be useful?
