Wonderful retreat
10.0Fantastic remote location at the foot of the glorious Pentland Hills and incredibly close to Edinburgh. Wonderful walks from the doorstep. The cottage was very comfortable and clean with a great wood burning stove, well equipped kitchen and lots of space. Beds very comfy. The wood fired sauna is fantastic and well worth the extra charge, would thoroughly recommend and do be brave enough to take a cold plunge. Stunning views over the valley from the sauna yurt and the cold plunge. Lots to do locally and Roslin Chapel well worth a visit.

Very comfortable, well-appointed rental in Natural Preserve lands attached to a historic family farm.
10.0The rental was set back into Natural Preserve land and part of a historic family farm. The scenery was beautiful and the hosts could not have been more friendly. It was tastefully decorated and had every convenience you could want. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept on. You will want to grocery shop before you get there because you are at least 20 minutes away from any store. I don’t see this as a negative but it could be inconvenient if you don’t plan ahead.
− The extra fees. There was an outdoor sauna available but had to be booked in advance and carried an extra fee. This is a high end, moderately expensive rental and the extra fee to sit in a sauna seemed over the top. We had asked about the possibility for early check in. We were told we could check in 2 hours early for an extra 40 pounds. Again, when you are paying this much per night, it seemed that we could expect a few concessions.
Brought American friends to experience UK country living and they loved it.
9.0Fab location-so peaceful and the garden areas were lovely place to sit. Byre was warm and had absolutely everything we needed for our stay
