Fantastic clean and well stocked apartment with excellent facilities

The penthouse had everything we needed, a powerful shower, pots, pans and oven trays for cooking, tea and coffee and 2 tvs both connected to the Internet was a bonus since I forgot my Bluetooth speaker so me and my fiance could still listen to music on YouTube while we played cards in the evening

− Some other guests contacted the property owner complaining about the noise we were making and the owner sent me a text at 23:00 telling me of the complaints and that he told the other guests to call the police if they wanted. We hadn't been in for 5 hours and had literally just got in ( not even been drinking so not drunk at all ) so it wasn't us making any noise. I told the owner this in my reply to his text but got no response or apology. This angered me and put a real downer on the evening

Everything we needed the bedroom was spacious and nice decor

− The bathroom was a bit small small sink and I think a blind is needed up the window but the black and white decor was lovely

The property itself is very well done out

− The property is in a very bad area, the view from the rear is of what I can only describe as a scrap yard with and unbelievable amount of rubbish and a dog that is simply not being looked after. Parking is basically anywhere you find a gap, which for me was on a whole other street, because the area is so bad I wasn’t comfortable to leave my car out of view. Neighbouring properties have people openly using drugs with drum and bass music blaring out and this was 4 in the afternoon. The location of this property has a very unsafe feeling, we stayed for less than an hour and drove home. We simply couldn’t have stayed there.

Very nicely decorated , clean , spacious bedroom , cosy snug , kitchen adequate for all our needs , comfortable bed and easy access arrangements. Very close to seafront. Sensibly priced and good contact from host. Streaming available on TV.

− No issues but if we had to be picky , my partner found the chairs uncomfortable and street parking was very tight. As others have said , some of the other properties on the road appeared scruffy but this is more of a reflection on UK seaside towns in general.

The accommodation appeared relatively clean and well kept, and the interior looked as described in the photos.

− Although clean inside, the property was not suitable for a weekend stay as the listing implied. It would be more appropriate for a contractor working away, rather than guests expecting a comfortable break. The smell of stale and fresh cigarette smoke throughout the accommodation was unbearable and completely different from what was shown or described online. The surrounding area felt worrying and intimidating to walk through after dark, which added to our discomfort. Parking was also a major issue — it is on-street only, difficult to find, and not an area where you feel comfortable leaving your car or van out of sight. These factors, combined with my partner becoming unwell from the fumes and our dogs being unsettled, meant we had no choice but to leave shortly after arriving.
