Great place for a group of friends…..
10.0This cosy and quaint cottage was just perfect for our group. Perfect location overlooking Loch Fyne with an incredible upstairs deck to sit and watch the world go by. Six of us stayed at the Lochside Hostel as we were attending the Scottish Series yacht event in nearby Tarbert. Host Kate couldn’t have been more helpful, the cottage was very clean, smart and had everything we needed (showers and comfy beds). We paid extra to have linen supplied which was great as we weren’t bringing sleeping bags. This place would really suit walkers, cyclists and larger groups, can’t fault it. Great hospitality and what a location.

Cold, miserable and uncomfortable
6.0Upstairs at this little chalet there is a moderately comfortable lounge with beautiful views over the loch. Probably a great place for a small crowd of people to stay economically and use it as a base. There is an abundance of very basic beds and bunks and it is listed as a "hostel"
− The whole place needs updating and it was cold and miserable. The owner had lit a fire in the small downstairs lounge but that did not lift the damp, cold feel of the place. Nothing about it was comfortable and it was one of the most expensive stays we had on the whole of the NC500
