9.0Perfect for a one night stay as attending a wedding nearby. Very quiet, clean and comfortable. Nice kitchenette with tea and coffee provided but unfortunately no milk! Toiletries also provided. We enjoyed our stay 😃

6.0Unfortunately, our stay here was quite underwhelming. We had high hopes for this place, especially as we were hoping to make it our regular base when visiting our son and his family nearby — but sadly, it fell short in many ways. To begin with, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. The mattress was lumpy and uneven, which has left me with noticeable back pain today. On top of that, the bed creaked with every slight movement, largely due to a loose and noisy headboard that made it difficult to get a restful night's sleep. This is a key issue as the previous reviewers had stated the bed was comfortable - it certainly wasn’t! The room itself was cold on arrival, and it didn’t warm up easily — the heating system was confusing to use, and no instructions were provided. The same could be said for the shower. It took us far too long to figure it out, and it was a frustrating experience. The bathroom sink tap also took an age to produce any hot water, which made basic tasks like washing up in the morning quite unpleasant. To add to that, there was no lock on the bathroom door — something we feel is a basic necessity. We also found the amenities lacking. While tea, coffee, and sugar were provided, there was no milk, which rendered the drinks pretty useless unless you’re a fan of black coffee or tea. Oddly, DVDs were supplied — but with no DVD player in sight, which didn’t make much sense. There was also no hairdryer, which is something we expected to be provided. We were woken early by a dog barking incessantly somewhere nearby, which was a far-from-relaxing start to the day. In the end, we were so disappointed that we decided not to stay for the second night — and instead had to book and pay for alternative accommodation at our own expense. We just couldn’t justify another uncomfortable and frustrating evening.
