A Cozy Stay Close to Nature – Warm Hospitality & Great Location
9.0I recently stayed at The Walnut Homestay in Kasauli and overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable experience. The host, Om, was incredibly warm and welcoming, always ready to help with a smile, which made the stay feel more personal and homely. The room was well-maintained and spacious, but what truly stood out was the washroom — exceptionally clean and thoughtfully designed. The balcony offered a beautiful view of the surrounding greenery, making mornings especially peaceful. The location is a major plus — just a short walk from Mall Road, yet tucked away enough to enjoy some quiet and privacy. It’s a great spot for those who want to be close to the town without the usual hustle and bustle.
− The food was average, and while there isn’t a common dining area like a food court or cafeteria, it’s important to remember that this is a homestay, not a hotel, so expectations should be set accordingly. There was a minor bug issue, but given the homestay’s proximity to the forest, it felt more like a part of the natural setting than a real inconvenience. The pricing felt a little on the higher side, especially since I’ve stayed in Kasauli multiple times and have experienced similar or better stays at a lower price point. That said, the cleanliness, location, and hospitality do make a strong case for choosing this property, especially for first-time visitors. All in all, The Walnut Homestay is a lovely place if you're looking for a cozy, quiet stay with a great host and a prime location. Just go in with the mindset that you’re staying at a homestay and not a full-service hotel, and you’ll have a great time.
