5.0Location on the harbour and near pubs and cafes. Kitchen lovely fully equipped. Bathroom updated and modern. Lounge cosy.
− First impression leaves and twigs in porch by main door. Open main door hall smelt of damp. Dirty towels left in bathroom large bag of dirty laundry left outside bathroom door. Shower in need of maintenance difficult to turn on. Hot water scolding needs to be warning signs present. Cushion covers in lounge worn and tired. Steep steps leading into kitchen need of railing for safety.
Great location, fair value, comfortable setting.
8.0No breakfast was included. The location was very convenient to the shops, restaurants, etc. Loved the character of the cottage due to its age.
− Although the property was quite clean--bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen--there were spider webs in every room, and the windows were very dirty mostly in the kitchen. We killed a couple of rather large spiders in the dining room. The kitchen sink had black mould in the crevice between the sink and the stone shelf. There were also bits of crumbling plaster (and plaster dust) at the bathroom sink. There was no broom or dustpan, nor were there any of the 'required' colored-coded recycle bags. We were told they were in the cabinet by the front door but there were none, but the clear bags and the space was a jumbled mess and quite dirty. The washer/dryer was a bit of a worry for lack of instructions on how to use them and are quite different from other countries. Some clarification would be appreciated. Given these 'issues', we still like the property and would stay there again, but hope the owners may make these small changes to make it even better. Carole
