We were a family of 8, ranging from 3 to 81 and 1 dog. It was great as each room had its own bathroom which is one of the things we specifically wanted. Weymouth Beach only 25 minute drive, Dorchester town only 15 and we went of the Sunday and there were some lovely market stalls. The location was great if you are taking your dog and the property is secure so we could let him out without worrying. The views are beautiful too.

Very “ olde worlde”, quirky, lots of character. The bedrooms were nicely decorated, spacious & warm. My room was especially enormous & tastefully decorated looking onto the river. The kitchen was well appointed with condiments, herbs etc for our use. The beautiful terrace with seating by the river would have been lovely to use in better weather. Alan our host, was very hospitable & helpful & bumped up the heating & got the gas fire going as we were so cold! He provides many blankets/ rugs in the sitting room which we used as the sitting room & dining room are chilly due to the age of the building & the thickness of the walls. We highly recommend The Giant pub in nearby Cerne Abbas, to eat. Excellent well priced meals, full of locals, great atmosphere.

− Just the coldness of the downstairs rooms. If the radiators were kept on all day rather than timed & maybe one or two more free standing gas fires, this would solve it. As I said Alan gladly altered the radiator timing but the rooms are so large a little extra heating would be nice.
