Wunderbare Zeit im Nationalpark Gran Sasso

Wir lebten mitten in einem mittelalterlich anmutenden Dorf in einer restaurierten Wohnung mit herrlichem Whirlpool, großer Dusche, gutem Bett, toller Aussicht und bei einem Besuch in der kalten Jahreszeit einem offenen Kamin! Trotz Hitzewelle im Resteuropa war es bei uns in Calascio am Fuße des fantastischen Campo Imperatore einfach nur herrlich angenehm. In der fußläufigen Bar "Calascino Café" waren wir bei wundervoller Aussicht zum Frühstück und zwischendurch bestens versorgt.:-) Die schönen Dörfer Castel del Monte und San Stefano di Sessanio nicht weit entfernt. ( Haben wir incl. Campo Imperatore mit dem Fahrrad erobert:-) )

− Es soll aber auch auf ein paar Problemstellen hingewiesen sein: Die Unterkunft kann mit Gepäck nur recht steil zu Fuß erreicht werden - Auto oder Motorrad müssen weiter draußen bleiben. In der Wohnung gibt es viele, teils hohe Stufen - für Gehbehinderte schwierig. Die Küchenausstattung war bescheiden (z.B. kein Schälmesser), merkwürdige Kleiderbügel im Schrank, mögliche Ablagen in diversen Schubladen mit Krimskrams belegt.

⸻ My stay in Calascio was truly unforgettable, and this Airbnb played a big part in that experience. Check-in was incredibly easy, which made settling in after the drive smooth and stress-free. The location was absolutely breathtaking—tucked away in the mountains, it offered peace, beauty, and a true sense of escape. What made this stay stand out even more was the host’s kindness and attentiveness. I was visiting the area to reconnect with my family roots, and the host went above and beyond to help make the experience meaningful. They assisted with restaurant reservations and shared wonderful local recommendations that gave me a real sense of the area’s culture and charm. Thanks Fabiana so much for helping us with the reservations. La Montanara is a must! Their ravioli truffle sauce is amazing and the family who owns the restaurant are amazing. This wasn’t just a place to stay—it felt like a warm welcome into a community. I can’t thank the host enough for making my time in Calascio so special.
