Our stay was disappointing. avoid avoid avoid
1.0Cancelled at short notice as with others avoid this is a scammer.
− We originally booked a weekend stay at Half Moon Bay, only for the host to cancel at short notice. After researching further, it appears this has happened to other guests previously, which was concerning. We were moved to Rose Cottage instead. Unfortunately, this was not a property we would have chosen ourselves. The listing photographs did not accurately reflect our experience. On arrival, after midnight, the cottage smelled strongly of soot and cigarette smoke. As it was so late, we felt we had little option but to stay. The cottage was located on a main road, making it much noisier than expected, and it became very hot during our stay. There was no Wi-Fi and no welcome information provided. We were also informed that the replacement property was cheaper than our original booking and were told the difference would be refunded in cash. Following our complaint, the owner offered a complimentary stay. However, this was subject to various conditions, including being restricted to non-holiday periods and only when availability allowed, which significantly reduced its value as a goodwill gesture. While the owner did respond to our concerns they were accusatory in nature,I initially sent him a text on the night stating you got to be joking ,he did not respond the overall experience was disappointing. The last-minute cancellation, alternative accommodation, and issues with the cottage meant the weekend did not meet our expectations. In reality rose cottage sounds nice however a middle terrace small property which is not fit for pupose

9.0The view. Wow. What a view. Fond memories at Heysham Head. Sheep in the field across didn’t spoil the view. Highlight was watching the fox walking down the middle of the road. Just sorry we didn’t see the 2 cubs.

6.0The location was beautiful overlooking the beach and a farmers field out in front filled with sheep and lambs.
− The cleanliness wasn't very good. Dead plant in the corner of the room. The condiments that were left for the house (vinegar and oil) were very tacky and covered in dust. The shower needs to be changed for new. Shower attachment doesn't allow for the height to be changed and the pressure wasn't ideal either.
