Great stay in Amsterdam
9.0The room was very comfortable. The reception were helpful. The place itself is at the top floor of a high building, so the view is nice.
− A bit pricey, but certainly reasonable in Amsterdam's standards. To get to the city center, you need to take a tram - it's very frequent and easy though.
Amazing experience
10.0It was a perfect apartment with all amenities. The host was very kind enough to share all details over WhatsApp and was very responsive whenever we messaged her. The location was little far from Central Amsterdam, but if you really want to experience the beautiful Holland, this place was superb!
YCW was a Godsend for us, & we were able to see Keykenhof & other Amsterdam attractions easily from
9.0Tulip Season, and Amsterdam MILKS tourists! Prices for Hotels can be atrocious - multiples of what they'd normally be - Absoloot nightmare. Amsterdam is an overcrowded city, and hotels can get full very fast. What one might normally pay for a couple or even 3 people, could easily be a "per person" price for a short break - IFF at all accommodation can be found! For us, it was Booking.com & YCW Papillon to the rescue. 3 of us stayed from 7th-10th April. The Accommodation is owned by Denis & Desiré Regeer. My call and email-queries were promptly answered by Desiré - she was our contact for this stay. She was also kind enough to have picked us up from the nearest bus stop. Bus No 470 from Schiphol stops at about a 10 minute walk from YCW Papillon. It costs Euro 4.90/- per person, and is NOT covered by the Amsterdam Regional Travel Ticket. 😣 The Airport Shuttle provided by Denis / Desiré might cost Euro 50-60/- brings you to the doorstep. The accommodation has its own separate entrance, and the decor is on a peaceful Yoga theme - Desiré is a Yoga teacher! The lighting is adequate, although we felt it could have been brighter - photos are in the review. Towels, Bathrobes are provided. There is a kitchen with a kettle, fridge, microwave as described. The Nespresso Coffee was Superb - we were hooked!😃 The Bathroom has a brand new Hansgrohe shower unit. (No bath or washbasin). There is a sign saying that there may be a delay in hot water between people showering, but there was no delay for us, we got hot water and the shower was great.
− Addl Costs that go on top of the Booking.com price to be aware of: 9% VAT Euro 10 Towel charge per night. 10% City Tax. These can bump up the price - in our case, by almost 27%! Also, there is a Menu card for the Sauna, Jacuzzi etc, which I have attached. I think it is reasonable, though our stay was so short that we did not get any chance to try them out. However these are stated clearly, so it’s NOTHING against YCW Papillon.
Good to know
The use of jacuzzi or sauna separated has an extra charge of €30 per 2 hours.
When you book the use of jacuzzi and sauna the charge will be €50.
You can use the Jacuzzi and Sauna in the evening from 8 PM till midnight.
(Other time schedules on request).This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties.
