Clear instructions for arrival. Great little apartment; clean and comfortable.

Bath towels a bit on the small size. The taps on the shower were very stiff. I had trouble turning it off with wet hands.

Great break in Colchester

The apartment has everything I need to enjoy my holiday, location to the town centre is within walking distance and I'm on sticks, local shops, pubs and takeaways all easily available. Ideal accommodation for couples or solo travellers.

All though fan's were supplied the rooms were really hot, but that was down to the weather so would be difficult problem to solve (Air conditioning expensive 🤔). But will not put me off using this again

An easy option to explore Colchester

7.0

We stayed here for 11n. The host was genuine and accommodating. There was a problem with the internet which he dealt with quickly. (BT's issue). It was a 25 mins walk into the centre. The secure private carpark was a 5 mins walk away. The apartment was spacious and all on the ground floor. A walk in shower.

The front door opened right onto the street. People talking as they went passed sounded like they were very close. (They were).

Like staying in a cage. A disappointing experience.

Ollie was very helpful and sorted out the parking, which someone else was using when we arrived. However, I have to point out that this was not at the property where we were staying, but a 5 minute walk away at another property. The bed was large and the mattress was comfortable, but the pillows were appalling, completely flat and should have been replaced.

Where shall I start? I have gone back to look at the reviews because I couldn't understand why I had chosen to stay at this property. There doesn't seem to be one review that criticises the location of the property, yet it is on a busy bus route with the windows right on the pavement with nothing except the wire cages on the windows between you and the passers-by. How that equates to 'city view', as described in the property description, I have no idea. You walk into the living room straight off the street and it has to be one of the bleakest rooms I have ever stayed in with a dubious looking sofa bed, large TV and one armchair being the sole furnishings. No coffee table, no rug, no extra lamps other than the main ceiling lights and not a cushion in sight. The bedroom was fine except for the pillows and people walking by right outside the window in the night, although there was a strange blue light that flashed in the night coming from the smoke alarm I think. There were bedside tables, but only one bedside light. The bathroom seemed OK at first, but we had problems with the shower going suddenly cold. The kitchen was light and bright, but lacked decent mugs and small plates and didn't have much in the way of saucepans etc for preparing a meal and the electric stove was ancient. The metal dish drainer was rusty. Be warned.
