Beautiful apartment, but apathetic hospitality

It is located near some main bus thoroughfares, so fairly easy to get to by public transit. Many restaurants are a short walk away. The property is well kept (apart from a few stains/scratches on the wallpaper) and very comfortable.

− While the property has a fully equipped kitchen, the owners’ rules dissuade one from using the kitchen (₩150,000 additional charge if you cook any strong-smelling foods). We purposely booked this accommodation because it had a kitchen, but we only found out about this exorbitant cleaning fee while in transit through a message about the building code and door lock code. We planned to cook a bolognaise (bringing all the ingredients with us), but because of the subjective nature of ‘strong-smelling food’ and expensive cleaning penalty, we felt we couldn’t cook our planned meal. Additionally, we were unlucky on the night that we arrived that there had been an accident in Paju earlier that day affecting the water mains. While this was out of the host’s control, they failed to inform us that there was no water at the accommodation. We arrived at the accommodation just before 10 p.m., and tried to use the bathroom, but of course there was no water. We messaged the host, thinking we had to turn on the water ourselves (not realizing it was a city-wide issue) who responded that the water was shut off. They did not offer us any help that night. We went to 3 convenience stores, but all were sold out of water. By this time (past 10 p.m.), all other stores were closed and likely also sold out. The host had plenty of time to warn us before our arrival about the lack of water so that we could stop to get some drinking water at least on our way (we found out later that the initial incident happened at 6 a.m on Friday, local residents were informed around 12 p.m., so there were several hours in which the host could have told us).

집처럼 편안한 시설.

− 늦은 체크인 시간 (조율 가능한건 다행).깨끗한 시설인데 하수구 냄새가 나서 계속 환기가 필요 건물 배관의 문제인듯.
