2.0The view is brilliant. Pools a nice to have. Looks great.
− There was a major electrical fault and it seems clear the house needs rewiring or something to that effect. The fridge was on and off for 3 days - hardly ideal in Barbados and we lost a lot of food. The lights flickered regularly (don’t stay if you are prone to migraines or epilepsy), the oven never worked, the list goes on. We immediately told Quintessential and to be clear they did what they could - Charlene was great. The claim was that it was due to significant damage to the electrical poles outside but I wouldn’t trust this. The house and furniture inside it is in need of a refurb (some dirty stained sheets weren’t great) - which it won’t get as the owner is looking to sell, and frankly I wouldn’t trust the electrics full stop. Our stay was significantly impacted (something Quintessential agreed with) - however the gesture of goodwill from the owner was pitiful - 20% off what we paid (not taking into account the extra money we had to spend on food and drink) isn’t a fair resolution for the issues we faced (resulting in us having an electrician round till 9.30pm one evening as we were trying to relax, countless calls etc). The owner is a rich gentleman from the UK so clearly doesn’t really care - and to repeat I’d definitely rent from Quintessential again - but I wouldn’t pay for this place even if it was 75% off.
