The house was amazing and everything was thought about to make the stay comfortable

Disappointed. Booked 3 nights, left the next day.

Overall design, comfy couch, ice in the freezer, size of property.

− There are gaps between the ceiling and the walls, which allowed mosquitoes to get into the room. There is no sound insulation at all. The property is located on a busy street with motorcycles passing by late into the night, and during our stay there was a nearby party with loud music until 2:30 AM, followed by dogs barking and roosters early in the morning. The bed is quite small for two people, and the room is accessed via very narrow and steep stairs, which may be difficult for some guests.

We where mother and daughter staying at the house. The house and grounds are spacious and look nice, but the interior design is not practical, suitable only for a young couple at a time, since the staircase to the bedroom was very steep and the sofa in the living room was uncomfortable to sleep on, and no place to put clothes or suitcase even though there is enough space for a wardrobe. The kitchen was well equipped and also laundry area was good but unfortunately we had water problems the whole time. We talked to Andrea and she addressed some issues that Cinthia did not do previous to our arrival.

− We found the floors very dirty, as well as the linen for the sofa bed, there were only two poliéster towels! (one towel each) for a seven day stay. Cinthia the administrator was not very happy about having to resolve this issues. -The Vanity area is too small to share. -The outside bathtub could never be used ( too much water to be filled). Water kept cutting off while showering. instead would be best to have more vanity area. -Curtains in the living room are smaller than the doors and light comes through the sides, not suitable for sleeping. There was a very noisy party up until 3pm on Saturday which kept us awake! We travelled with two littles dogs( chihuahuas that got filthy in some garbage kept behind the garden shed. Maintenance is needed there too. The house has potential if issues are addressed.

Don’t stay here, stay on the lagoon instead.

Beautiful house inside and out. Well equipped, especially in the kitchen and laundry room. Basics for cooking (oil, salt, pepper) useful. Only a 10 min walk to central area.

− Very small bed. One of us was going to sleep on the sofa bed so we had a bed each, but there were so many mosquitoes inside the house in the evening as the property is not sealed at the roof, that we both huddled under the only mosquito net in the bedroom. I had horrible bites from sitting in the living room for a few hours. The roof bedroom was very stuffy and the barking dogs were unbearable - at no point do they get told to stop or brought inside by their owners. 1 pair of earplugs were provided but they were not packaged, and looked used. The cleaner arrived an hour before we were due to check out and the host insisted on meeting us at check out and checked the property for damage? Theft? I don’t know but it was intrusive and not necessary. Wouldn’t stay here again.

Comfortable, cozy, pleasant and safe stay in Bacalar.

The house is very comfortable and it has lots of amenities to make your stay very cozy. It was easy to get to and from there you can walk to different places in Bacalar. Also, the communication with the host was very good so no issues to check in or out.

− The stairs are a bit steep but just be careful.
