Mostly good
6.0The owner was very helpful. The facilities were well equipped. The TV had every channel you could want. The shower was invigorating . I was hoping to have a soak in the bath as we don't have one, but the weather was too for that unfortunately. The beds were super comfy. It was lovely and cool downstairs with the stone floor. A cosy place to come back to at the end of a day out.
− I didn't like that the garden was shared. wouldn't have chosen the property if I'd have known. Downstairs is a little on the dark side, it could do with brighter lights. The stairs are steep. If you have mobility issues you could find this a hazard. Night time was very noisy. The pub on the corner was very noisy and neighbours were also noisy. Not to mention the seagulls that never shut up from 4am. All of this might not have been too noticeable if we didn't have to sleep with the windows open because of the heat. Even though the lovely little road where the houses are is well kept, you're just around the corner from the rougher part of Morecambes nightlife.
Left early - would never go back
3.0The property itself was ok.
− Despite a claim in the property handbook that the neighbours are “lovely”, some were in the shared back yard at 2.30 am on the first night talking loudly (assume they were drinking). There were two large dogs that were often in the yard one of which barked loudly at any excuse such as someone walking past the gate. When my wife spoke to one of the neighbours about this at about 8.30 pm the woman replied aggressively “we live here”. The owner told us when we arrived that the walls between the houses were just one layer of brick. He had a team of people in the next house refurbishing it. This meant noise from power tools during weekdays and sawdust all over my car (from their woodworking bench in the street).
Comfortable from arrival to departure
10.0Everything. Location, decor, facilities and friendly greeter

10.0We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Bolt Hole & could happily have stayed longer. The house is amazing! It has been restored beautifully & is so luxurious. So much imagination has been put into its transformation. We met Neil who was the perfect host. I felt we had made a new friend! It was a very short walk to the seafront and a great place to break up our journey from Scotland to Cornwall. I hope we will return!

The Bolt Hole
10.0The Bolt Hole is an amazing place to stay, its like home from home. It's quirky, comfortable and spotless, and has everything you'll need for your stay. The beds are so comfy you'll enjoy a good night's sleep. The outside seating area is lovely with lots of plants and small bushes and cheeky little birds visit from time to time. Neil the host is amazing too, he met me when I arrived, showed me around the cottage explaining where everything was and how to use the TV, (I never knew there were so many TV channels). The beach is 2 minutes away. Trust me when I say you will love your stay here and will want to come back year after year, just like me
− Nothing, everything was brilliant

10.0Amazing stay at The bolt hole. Very cool in the lovely cottage over this hot weekend and a perfect base for our family trip in the area with great hosts and easy check in.
− Nothing atal. Had seen a few reviews about shared garden and dogs and one of my boys hates dogs and even stroked these they were softies and nothing to put you off atal.
