Comfortable home with private homey courtyard, easy drive to lots of beaches/sites/towns
8.0Everything looks nicer than in the photos, we enjoyed our stay, and I would return. Seems to have been newly renovated, and was very clean throughout. Short drives to many beaches and other cute old towns. Easy to park down a nearby street (free parking.) Very safe neighborhood. I can offer some insights to others who are sensitive to musty smells (mold, etc.) I am finding that musty smells are not uncommon in renovated old buildings, especially homes and apartments (much less so in B&B's and hotels). The 2nd bedroom (not the master bedroom) had enough of a musty smell near the headboard that my son ended up using the pull out couch in the living room to avoid it. Note that we did not see any mold growing anywhere. And there was a slight musty smell in some of the kitchen cabinets (under the sink, especially.) So we kept the bedroom door and cabinet doors closed and it was fine after that. The very nice and helpful property manager told us that it was extra rainy the entire month before our stay and that the musty smells in older buildlings go away in dry months. She couldn't smell what we smelled in the bedroom, but she could smell the mustiness in the closet under the stairs (that we did not need to use, thank goodness). I think we are more senstive than most people are to mold/mustiness. This home is a very comfortable place to stay. The master bedroom has two terraces, and there is a lovely private courtyard with many plants/trees and plenty of places to hang drying laundry (they have a washing machine.) There is also a dining table in the courtyard under an umbrella as well as a large dining table inside, both right next to the kitchen. The dishwasher was a nice convenience for a longer stay, as well. The little town of Castrignano del Capo is quiet and residential and the people are very friendly. We loved getting pastry/coffee/gelato at the little mom and pop bar (coffee shop) about a 5 min walk away and through the main piazza.
− I have done some research about renovating old stone buildings and there is a way to do so to minimize the creep of damp that can happen during the wet months, but my guess is that the majority of builders don't do it because of the added costs. So you are going to have this in many places you could book. So at least you know that if you stay here, you can avoid the musty smells (if you are sensitive like we are to them) by closing the door to the second bedroom and minimize opening the cabinet under the sink (and keep the closet under the stairs closed, that's where it was the worst). Also, it might be that the smell is completely gone in the hotter/dryer months (we stayed in late May after a very raining April.)

10.0Duży, piękny dom z klimatem dla rodziny. Wygodny i kompletnie wyposażony.
10.0Wunderschönes Haus! Liebevoll dekoriert. Küche sehr gut, mit allem was man braucht, ausgestattet.
