1.0− Extremely disappointing experience. Our booking for three guests was confirmed four days in advance, and on the day of arrival, I sent messages and made several calls to the host regarding key collection, none of which were answered. After driving more than 10 hours from the North East and arriving at the property at around 8pm on our way to the property, we were informed that the host had accepted a double booking and our accommodation was no longer available. As a result, we had to find alternative accommodation late at night in another town, incurring additional hotel and fuel costs and having to discard food we had purchased for our self-catering stay. Our planned visit to Tintagel Castle was also disrupted. While we received a refund, it did not compensate for the extra expenses, stress, and significant inconvenience caused. Better communication from the host could have prevented this situation entirely.
