It was ok, but it is worth remembering that it is not a hotel and this affects the standard.
6.0The apartment is beautiful and the hosts are nice. They are happy to share advice and that was helpful.
− The bathroom was moderately clean. The room lacked a hanger or a place to put my things. The pillow was stale and smelled bad.
Torturous....no A/C and it is HOT!!
4.0The location to Venice, with a direct bus right downstairs was great. Good neighborhood with local eateries, grocery stores, convenience stores.
− HOTTER THAN HELL. The most unpleasant stay I've had in Italy. Ive stayed in hostels that were better. No a/c in bedroom, and you can't feel the a/c in living room. Then to make matters worse, the owner comes home and turns it OFF even though I expressed I was miserably hot (38°+ outside, and inside felt the same). I had to sleep naked with the window open and still woke up several times each night wet in sweat. The little fan provided offered no relief, even though I slept with it in the bed with me. Ended up with bug bits all over my body too. Dead/dried up plants all over the house, dirty shower, lumpy pillow (had to stuff the pillowcase with clothes just to attempt to make it comfortable), moldy washing machine (which ruined my clothes), and you can't even talk on the phone in your own room without owner asking you to be quiet. I was under the impression I was renting a room in a welcoming couple's apartment when I booked, but I crossed paths with 5 different people coming and going from other rooms. Its transient housing for many apparently, which is not in the description of property. The owner contacted me one day, scolding me for not turning the little fan off in my room before I left. Big deal, I didn't want to return to a sauna, excuse me! No TV or mirror in bedroom, which would have been helpful. Washing machine was gross, as was kitchen. The whole place needs cleaned. I did not feel welcome at all, more like trasspasser in someone's house. Super awkward.
Gorgeous place
10.0The flat is gorgeous and spacious. Full of plants(what I particularly like), nice decoration and huge living room. The location is perfect! Close to the station and it has a bus stop literally in front that takes you to Venice. Didn't have the chance to chat much with Lucia and Umberto because I'd leave in the morning and be back late afternoon. But they seem to be nice people. I highly recommend.
