A cosy, clean and well-equipped little annex with a fully enclosed garden that’s perfect for dogs, set in a peaceful loc

9.0

We had a wonderful stay and would happily recommend this accommodation to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway. The annex is cosy and well equipped with everything you need for everyday life. We were pleasantly surprised to find a few basics such as pasta, rice and sauces, which was a lovely touch. There is a fridge with a freezer compartment, the shower had plenty of hot water almost instantly, and everything was clean and well maintained. The fully enclosed little garden was perfect for our dog, who also felt completely at home. Although the accommodation isn’t large, that’s exactly what you expect from the description, and we found it had more than enough space to relax and enjoy our stay. It’s an excellent base for exploring the surrounding area. There are lovely pubs nearby serving good food, and everyone we met was incredibly friendly. We especially enjoyed walking through the fields and woodland, and the beautiful old church and cemetery behind the house were well worth a visit. If you’re looking for somewhere quiet to unwind and escape the hustle and bustle, this is a fantastic place. We would highly recommend it and would be very happy to return.

Decent place in lovely village

8.0

Nice little property in a lovely village (Old Heathfield) with a great pub (the Star Inn) just a few mins walk. No shops but supermarkets nearby in Heathfield. Property very well equipped plus small garden for sitting out which is useful as a bit cramped inside.

WiFi a little weak - couldn’t get in living room but ok elsewhere. WiFi extender not working I think. Garden needs a little tlc: grass needs mowing and general tidy up. Stairs and upstairs a little tricky due to low ceiling in the eves but beds comfortable and does the job!

The cottage is very comfortable and I really enjoyed sitting in the garden as it is a real suntrap.

Quiet location, especially the garden. Well kitted out for such a small property. Comfortable mattress

The lack of headroom at the top of the stairs. It was extremely awkward for me as a 6ft tall man to get up and down to the bedroom. I found a method that worked, but I was very lucky not to bang my head during my stay

Absolutely rubbish, DON'T BOOK THIS COTTAGE.

1.0

Nothing, the cottage was an absolute nightmare, you had to walk under an open staircase to get into a tiny lounge, you had to crawl on all fours to get in/out of bed without bashing your head on the rafters, the smallest of kitchens was right next to the shower/toilet room, the driveway big enough for 2 cars but only one can park because the end cottage gets blocked in, the back garden was not secure and the grass was to long for our dog's to go in. The cottage was smaller than a Shepherd hut, it has all these health and safety hazards and should not be on the market as a holiday cottage, TO DANGEROUS.

ALL OF THE ABOVE, plus the owners of the cottage are an absolute disgrace, screaming and shouting down the phone to us, telling us we had to vacate the property with nowhere else to go at 6pm after just driven for 7 1/2 hours, take it off your booking system immediately because you will get more complaints.
