Sian could not do enough for us. She was so friendly and she made great fuss of our dog Hugo. The view of the estuary from our room was spectacular. The breakfast was exceptional and we would highly recommend Sea View as a great place to stay!

Wir sind im Dylan Thomas mit einer Herzlichkeit empfangen worden, die uns völlig überrumpelt hat. Sian, unsere vor Energie strotzende Gastgeberin, hat uns vor dem Hungertod bewahrt, indem sie kurz vor Küchenschluss noch ein Restaurant für uns reserviert hat. Und überhaupt, so viele Tipps und nette Gespräche, dass man schon beim (köstlichen) Frühstück Lust auf Wales bekommt. Sie kocht gegen Aufpreis selbst ein Welsh Breakfast, aber da wir in Großbritannien leben, haben wir in unserem Leben bereits genug Baked Beans gehabt, sodass wir das kontinentale Frühstück (mit eigenem Fruchtsalat und sogar eigenen Aufstrichen) extrem genossen haben. Die Aussicht von beiden Schlafzimmern im ersten Stock ist ein Traum und im Erdgeschoss steht den Gästen ein eigenes gemütliches Wohnzimmer zur Verfügung. Geht man ein paar Schritte, ist man am Meer und kann dem Sonnenaufgang entgegenspazieren und die Ruhe genießen.

− Unser Zimmer war etwas kompakt, weil wir mit ordentlich Gepäck angereist waren. Die Aussicht und die trotz mangelndem Platz tolle Ausstattung und das große Bett haben das Ganze aber mehr als gutgemacht.

The house is beautiful, comfortable and very well appointed. A wide range of books written both by Dylan Thomas and Caitlin provides ample reading material and connection to a purposeful stay in their own previous home. The outlook onto the estuary from all levels is evocative. Breakfast on both mornings was exquisite, both the continental and full English.

− I feel that we got off on the wrong foot with the owner/ host. Though we arrived within the prescribed 3 hour window of time, ( 3pm to 6 pm… we arrived at 5) apparently she had wanted us to inform her more exactly of our arrival time. I wasn’t able to find anything in her messages to me that expressed this. Though there was nothing in the booking information that had offered twin beds, on arrival she checked that the double in Dylan’s room was fine for us (2 ladies travelling together). We commented that twin beds would have been preferable and were admonished for not letting her know that before arrival so that she could have made up the other room. These two matters saw her referring to me as “ elusive” in my communication. I had been informed that I could park the car near the house to unload luggage etc and then repark later. The owner came out to see where I had parked and again chastised me for not leaving enough room between my car and hers for a possible wheelchair to come through saying we’d end up with both of our cars scratched. She insisted that I repark close to a wall which made getting out of the driver’s side door much more difficult. She didn’t care that I have a disability sticker clearly displayed on the dash. There were other negative interactions also. I found her manner to be abrasive, depreciating and superior and this badly coloured what would otherwise have been a truly delightful stay.

Sian was delightful--a 365° hostess who prepared a healthy and delicious breakfast for us, then took us on a seacoast walk with her dogs. We loved every moment in this beautiful home by the sea. The bed was comfortable, and we settled in as if we were long-lost relatives, setting up our laptops to write in the living room after a long day of exploring the offerings of Laugharne.

− Our stay was too short. We would have liked to have stayed longer.

This is a perfect place to stay. Excellent food, perfect host, great location .

Perfect location and host. Nothing was too much trouble. We celebrated a 70th birthday while at the property. Sian could not have been more helpful and has given us special memories . We cannot thank her enough.
