Great location just off the main road. In a quiet country village.

Well worth a visit

What a lovely hotel! Welcomed to the room by the lovely Leslie to find homemade cake and a snifter of Sloe gin on the side. The room was comfortable and roomy. There is a choice of real ale and craft cider. When it came to mealtime, the food on offer is superb. My husband and I really enjoyed our meal. The location is very quiet but the A1 is very accessible to enable visiting all the many local attractions in beautiful Northumberland. I would strongly recommend this little hotel!

There is nothing to dislike. The only proviso would be that, in our room, number 2, the bath is rather high. If you were not that good on your feet, you may struggle to get in and out safely. Didn't trouble us though.

A lovely warm welcome from the staff on arrival. Comfortable spacious room with home made sloe Gin & blueberry muffins which was a special touch. Breakfast the following morning was delicious.

The curtains in the room could do with being a bit thicker to keep the light out- might not bother some people but I like a dark room. Minor complaint though!

The staff were great and the food was out of this world. Apart from the usual things you expect you got some sloe gin in your room together with cake that was replenished every day. It was great value for money and well situated to visit everything in the area easily.
