Safety issues
1.0− I had to cancel a tour due to a sudden health issue. When I refused to pay 1700 pesos for a service I didn't use, a staff member blocked the door and physically held me inside to force payment. This is a major red flag for solo travelers, especially women. Physical restraint is illegal and dangerous. I feel like this is the most important thing to know about this hostel. The dorms were clean and the location was fine (even though the beachfront bar is a business apart, it does not belong to the hostel). But anything becomes irrelevant when staff uses physical intimidation.
