Too rustic for our tastes but others may love it.
5.0Beautiful old house in wonderful grounds
− Needs a sign outside so it can be located, unfortunately we found the bathroom old and grubby and the bed uncomfortable.
Very good

Exceptional
10.0Rural location in a historic house. Amy is a splendid host - friendly and welcoming - and the huge breakfasts set you up for a day in the Lakes and Pennines.
A great place to stay for a couple of nights in an interesting, 17th century country house.
10.0A rare opportunity to stay in a historic building filled with interesting pictures and books with beautiful gardens. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly and provided great breakfasts to meet our needs, as well as other refreshments. The four poster bed was really comfortable, great views across the fells, and our own wing of the building to ourselves.
The Hostess with the Mostess!
10.0Amy is the hostess with the mostest! She is generous and thoughtful. She loves the old manor and gave us a tour of the amazing walled gardens. The bed was incredibly comfortable with a very upmarket duvet. The electric fire in the bathroom was a nice addition. Philip has the most incredible collection of antique books! Amy offered to cook us a lovely Vietnamese dinner and breakfast had some of the best sausages I’ve ever had! The location is so peaceful.
− We weren’t really sure which door to go to on arrival. A little sign in the car park might be helpful. (Just go through the arch to the big main door and knock)
