Fraudulent Listing - Safety Risk, No Check-In, Scammers Involved
1.0− I booked this property for my stay in London (December 4-7, 2025) through Booking.com. Despite being a Genius Level 3 customer with years of trust in the platform, this was a fraudulent listing that caused serious distress and extra expenses. The property never provided proper check-in details despite repeated requests. On the day of arrival, I was contacted via WhatsApp by a so-called “assistant” (provided via booking.com chat by the property) demanding a £300 deposit via bank transfer, even though the Booking.com confirmation clearly stated the deposit was to be paid in cash at check-in. Thank God I didn't transfer!!! The "assistant" gave me a different address than the one in my booking confirmation, didn't provide the lockbox code nor explained why the address doesn't match. Multiple calls to Booking.com support were disconnected or resulted in instructions to “arrive at the property and call again if no one was there,” which placed me and my travel companion in a dangerous situation. When we arrived (around 10pm) there was no one to meet us, no lockbox code, and the property didn't reply to several phone calls and messages. We had to cancel the booking at midnight and find last-minute accommodation at much higher cost. This listing is unsafe and fraudulent. Booking.com failed to act on clear evidence of a scam and ignored repeated safety concerns. Future customers should avoid this property entirely.
Great host, great location and very enjoyable stay
9.0The property was very clean and had everything we needed. The host was easy to communicate with at all times. We arrived earlier than the usual check in time. Thank you very much for your kind and quick help with accommodation after our previous accommodation cancelled on us last min. Great location.
