Beautiful rural retreat!
10.0We have a perfect stay. The lodge is beautifully located overlooking a field with cows and donkeys. The lodge was exceptionally comfortable, spotlessly clean and really well equipped for self catering. It was spacious enough for our family of four with two teens. We loved watching the beautiful sunset and the hot tub was a hit!
− Nothing really, we’d have preferred a later check out time (with teens 🤣) but 10am was fine.
Very comfortable with lovely views
8.0Very clean and well appointed
− It was very warm due to heatwave and the fan wasn’t powerful enough to cool down the bedroom

10.0Outstanding accommodation
A comfortable, very relaxing stay in a well equipped lodge.
9.0Lovely, clean and well equipped lodge with a comfortable bed and thick towels. Excellent shower and bath with all the hot water you could wish for. Very peaceful location and enjoyed sitting with the door open, watching the cows, rabbits and birds in the fields and garden. This was our second visit, and we find it a great base to use for exploring the many National Trust properties nearby, plus it’s ideally situated for all major routes for exploring further afield.
− The oven seemed to take ages to heat up, but as we only used it once, it wasn’t an issue. We usually recycle where possible, but there wasn’t any obvious provision for this other than food waste. Perhaps some lidded crates could be placed in the porch area?
