Accessing the building upon arrival was the challenging part. It is in an area with other buildings, and it is not clear that the Jewel is not a part of the other apartments, so we did not know which one we were in. The owner was readily reachable by phone, but signal was bad so difficult to understand where we were supposed to go. We did end up meeting a nice young man who told us that the Jewel is just one building - the first one on the left upon driving in - and assisted us in showing us to our entry, which was not marked as #1. Other than that, the place was very clean and comfortable.

Everything was great, the location is very close to Glengariff, the spa was excellent, especially the cold plunge straight in the mountain stream! Our hostess Keelin couldn't be nicer or more accommodating, the room was huge, beds and pillows really comfortable. I would love to come back!

− I'd like more hooks or maybe a little shelf in the shower room, the fridge was a bit noisy at night time but it was great to have it, as well the breakfast foods, milk, tea and coffee facilities. Spa made up for lack of outside space, it was really hot both days and it's not often you need an outside space in Irish weather anyway!

− The windows could have been cleaned. Given that the large windows in the living space and the goregous views are a feature, if the windows could have been cleaned then it would have been perfect.

Spotless, modern and super friendly owners. The price was great for a family of four. The spa was not included in the price but it was so relaxing and worth the 50 euro for 2 hours. Would definitely stay here again. Glengariff and the Beara peninsula are just stunning.

− You do need a car but the town is only 20 minutes walk away.

The apartment was exceptional, from the living area to the bathroom. The kitchen was clean and had all the facilities we needed, the homemade croissants with jam and butter were a lovely touch, as well as the fresh milk in the fridge. The bedrooms had lovely furnishings and were very comfortable, I had the best two nights sleep. And also the gorgeous view over the hills of Glengarriff. We were very pleased with our stay at The Jewel Lodge, it made our trip to Ireland and we hope we will be back very soon.

− The only thing that I overlooked when booking was that there is no television in the living room, however this turned out to be a welcome change as we surprisingly didn't miss it at all!
