10.0We booked the room with a private onsen and it definitely lived up to the expectations. The room was really spacious and had a perfect view of the lake. Both dinner and the traditional breakfast were delicious—honestly, the quality was top-notch, like being in a high-end restaurant. A huge thanks to the staff: we mentioned at check-in that one of us doesn't eat fish, and they immediately went out of their way to provide alternatives. (Pro tip: maybe let them know a few days in advance so they can prepare even better!) The team was incredibly kind throughout our stay, making us feel right at home and helping us understand Japanese customs. Also, the free shuttle service to Kagaonsen station after checkout was super convenient. Highly recommended!
Don’t expect up-market furnishings. This is a traditional Japanese onsen with lovely staff, a great view and amazing foo
10.0Great staff & location and very authentic Japanese experience
Beautiful ryokan facing the lake
10.0Beautiful rooms facing the lake, meals were elaborate and delicious so go in with an empty stomach or you wont be able to finish. Really enjoyed the onsen (there is a small outdoor section not to be missed). Staff were very attentive and helpful and found my son’s missing sweatshirt - when we drove back to look for it, the staff already had it wrapped in a bag at the reception. Will definitely come back!
Very good

Exciting experience of Japanese Ryokan hotel and dining
10.0We had an exciting, wonderful one-night stay at this beautiful and luxury Ryokan hotel, which is situated directly on the seaside with a marvelous sight on the sea and the Japanese Alps in the background, directly from our room and from the traditional hot Onsen bath (open the whole night!). The dinner and the breakfast in your private “séparée” were extraordinary, Japanese kitchen at it’s best, and the personal of this family-run Ryokan was extremely friendly and accommodating. They have also a bus shuttle from Kagaonsen railway station, which is a stop of the new Shinkansen prolongation opened only in March 2024
− The rooms are typically Japanese, which may be a little bit spartan, as it is its character, but they were large, with an exciting view, very “zen” and everything was fully functional and operating. The façade of the building and some commons could need a fresh-up.
