Terrible experience due to many reasons.

The landscape that the ranch is located in is beautiful.

Dealing with the carelessness, dishonesty, and lack of responsibility of the staff has been the worst experience I had during my stay in Costa Rica. The day before the start of my stay, finca del cielo emailed me. Rather than communicate by email, I texted them on Whatsapp. None of my text messages were returned, so the ranger living in the ranch had no idea that I was staying with them. Once I arrived at the Google Maps location listed on booking.com, a local residents called the ranch's ranger to let him know of my presence. While on speaker, the ranger referred to me as "puta." In retrospect, I understand his frustration: His nephew, responsible of communications with guests, had not let him know that of my booking. Once at the lodge, I was told that there was no electricity available. The closest place where I could charge my phone was a 15-minute hike away, and it was impossible to reach out due to the heavy rain. In other words, I was stuck in a cabin with no electricity with no means of communication with the outside world. My room also had many dead bugs. Out of an abundance of patience, I did not say anything. When the ranger (who only speaks in Spanish) asked me if I wanted dinner, I replied that I did. However, this was lost in translation. To my surprise, I came to later understand that the ranger thought I did not want dinner. To add some comic context to the scene, two big frogs were in the kitchen at the same time. Six meters away, a calf was sleeping in its own pee (funny, right?). The next day, I was informed that my stay cost 122 dollars. I was very surprised, as my reservation on booking.com stated a price of 80$ (excluding taxes). After I put a complaint, finca del cielo replied to booking to say that I was charged for dinner ($24), a bottle of water ($3.33) and a snack ($3.70). THIS IS A LIE. I was given NONE of those things.
