Beautiful location and surroundings. The lake was so pretty. The property was clean, full of character and pleasant to stay in. We saw that previous guests said the shower was broken - for us it worked fine as long as turned to full power. Kitchen very well equipped. Nice to have some games too.

If two families are staying together, they may struggle with just having one bathroom/toilet. For us the bathroom was fine!

We had lots of laughs around the kitchen table

So much potential but is let down by lack of some specific shortcomings.

Apartment itself was spacious with three great bedrooms.kitchen and living room space was fine.

However bathroom leaves a lot to be desired and lets the property down. Overall cleanliness was good considering the condition and age of the property.

Spacious & beds were very comfortable. Well located

Shower did not work on 2 of 3 days we stayed. This was very inconvenient especially during a heatwave . There was no information- that we could find to explain the recycling so didn’t know which colour bins to use for what. Similarly, it was unclear which parts of the estate were private & where we could roam. We were challenged by grounds staff as we drove up the drive ( not unpleasantly) but felt reluctant to walk out from the property in case we strayed, wasn’t quite the estate location on the lake we expected

Characterful house, needs some tlc in places

5.0

Hosts are very responsive. Excellent size bedrooms and comfortable bedding. Much bigger inside than the photos show. The peacocks are lovely to see around the grounds. The house is very well decorated, and a lot of thought has gone into statement pieces which adds a lot of character.

Some of the grounds around the lake are quite over grown or fallen trees across paths and the bridge at the end is starting to rott, this made it quite hard to easily walk around. The extractor in the kitchen did not work, neither did the electric heater. Some wallpaper is peeling in a number of rooms. The shower is temperamental. Would benefit from an upgrade/maintenence, to reflect the price of the stay.
