The accommodation was nice. Very quiet and secluded. But the bed was lumpy.

Nice stay - great views at Breakfast and sun-downer. Hideaway rooms ok for summer/not winter
8.0Room 71 - Breakfast was great, and of course you are paying for the fab location. Lakeside Rooms offer that bit of privacy away from the sound of the road. Glad to have the 1L bottle of Harrogate water in the room each day.
− This is one of the Hideaway Room. It is part of the Lakeside Rooms annex but part of a separate mews building - each room has a glass door and side windows. I was on my own - there were extra outside steps to get to my room - not good for winter. Room itself nice - lucky to have a fan in hot weather. Should have had a suitcase tressle - plenty of space for it. Shower head - leaking and couldn't turn down to warm/cool so you could scald yourself it left at hot. There is one direct path at Gazebo that I would state is unsafe, and block it off - uneven ground. The side path from the top next the car park could have been clearly signed. The parking there is v tight - dont be late as the best spots will be gone. Next time I'd prefer the main hotel in the colder months, or have a room in the Lakeside Rooms proper.

8.0Really comfortable beds, and the room was very clean. Walking distance to Ambleside, and near the ferry port which is ideal for going on day trips. Reception staff really polite and helpful and made a great fuss of our rescue dog. Fantastic breakfast, loads of choice and lovely to be able to sit out on the terrace in the nice weather to eat. A real bonus to have free parking as it's tough to park in Ambleside. A great weekend stay.
− Our room was right by the front door so it was noisy with people coming and going between 11pm-midnight and from quite early in the morning. Our dog did bark a few times because of the noise, which we felt bad about for other guests, so maybe it's not the best location for a pet friendly room. The room was also very warm, with only a small window that opened at the front, but that increased the noise so we couldn't always have it open.
Please note that The Lake House Rooms at The Waterhead Inn is an old Victorian building with no lift. If guests smoke in the rooms, they may be charged one night's accommodation as a penalty.
Upon arrival, guests need to check in at The Waterhead Inn before making their way to their room within the Lake House building. The Lakehouse is an annex building across the road from The Waterhead Inn and access is via an incline. Check-in alongside breakfast is in the main Waterhead Inn building which is located across the road at the bottom of the incline.
Guests arriving after 20:00 are requested to inform the property prior to arrival. Contact details can be found on the booking confirmation. It may not be possible to accommodate guests in the same room for each consecutive night of their stay.
Pet-friendly rooms are limited, so please check availability prior to booking. A GBP 15 fee per pet per night applies, and guests are required to inform the property in advance.
