This upstairs apartment is conveniently located in the heart of Tomar. It is within easy walking distance of the Convento de Cristo, Castelo de Tomar, and many excellent restaurants and bars. It is clean, comfortable, and convenient. There is a public parking garage located only a few minutes away that charges 6 euros to park for 24 hours. Regrettably, we were awakened on Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. by the sound of heavy and persistent construction noise emanating from approximately 25 feet directly outside our bedroom window. Yikes! Future travelers may want to inquire about the status of the construction work as it was still in its early stages during our one-night stay.

− We selected this particular accommodation over several less expensive options in Tomar because it was advertised as having a washing machine. Although there was in fact a machine in the bathroom, there was no laundry detergent to be found. When we reached out and asked our host for detergent, he initially told us we were the first customers in 18 months to request detergent and, if we really needed it, we could buy our own detergent at a local market. After expressing our surprise and disappointment, Hugo kindly agreed to provide us with some detergent, and we were able to wash one load of dirty clothes. Hopefully this will not be an issue for future travelers in need of a few clean clothes.

Pilot’s house in Tomar - where legends meet

Spotlessly clean house, almost in the very heart of the old town. Nearby paid parking is a big plus. Hugo is very responsive and easy to communicate with. There is a beautiful reminiscence of the Portuguese pilot that crossed the south Atlantic that adds a special touch to the whole experience.

The apartment was spotless! So clean and comfortable. The bathtub has a shower. Loved the tile. The bedroom was large and nice bedding. Bath towels were high quality and huge. Welcome tarts and sparkling water were such a treat! Excellent communication with Hugo. His mom even brought us fresh herbs! Just the best!!!

genuinely beautiful place, obviously done with skill and care. spacious, well equipped, centrally located. parking nearby (6euro/24hr or 3euro/overnight) in an underground lot, or free street parking just a few blocks further. I wish we could have stayed longer, but our trip demanded we move.

Perfect place to stay for a trip

Everything was excellent! I really loved to stay in this very nice apartment. It was much space and very beautiful furniture, everything was made with love and thoughts to the details. I didn’t miss a thing and would come back again. We even got a little piece of the typical cake of Tomar when we arrived.

Hugo was great at communicating and helped us get situated. Lovely,spacious apt just like the pictures. Easy walk to town, restaurants, plaza and to secure parking. Welcomed with a local treat and some sparkling water

− A bit noisy at night with the windows open. Could benefit from an xtra or thicker pillow for the bed. The overnight parking was 16E cash so be prepared for that (not in Hugo’s control).-The upside is the parking is a short 2 blocks from the apt
