Best camp site I have ever seen
10.0I arrived in Kibuye and first had lunch with Jean-Paul, the owner of the campsite. After that we went to a local market and bought some food for dinner and for the breakfast the next morning. Then we took a really beautiful boat ride across Lake Kivu to the quiet and isolated place where the campsite is located. The campsite has a very nice garden with mango trees, eucalyptus trees and even coffee plants. Two members of the staff helped us carry the luggage and also helped with preparing the food. The tent I slept in was very comfortable and the whole place felt very calm and well taken care of. What makes this place special is mainly the peaceful atmosphere and the amazing view over Lake Kivu. In the evening you can watch the fishermen out on the water, and in the morning there are many birds and you wake up with all the sounds of nature. I would definitely recommend this campsite to anyone who visits Rwanda.
− I stayed just one night. Next time I would definitely want to stay longer!
Incredible place to relax and enjoy Rwanda's nature in its utmost purity. Will never forget.
9.0Inzozi is a unique campsite, located on a slope right next to an arm of Kivu lake. The campsite has fantastic views from any of the available terraces, where you can put your tent or rent one from the owners. It also features a cozy and convenient community area on top of the hill, where one can cook, meet others, play games, chat, etc. Or make music! Playing the harmonica while overlooking the bay was a mind-blowing experience. :-D The staff speaks good English and are so friendly and hospitable! Inzozi is a fantastic place to be off-the-grid, enjoy nature, and fine peace. Besides we did a wonderful guided hiking tour through coffee plantations, minute villages (with ever-smiling villagers), up to the top of a hill (quite challenging!) and visit to a pottery village where we didn't only get an impressive demonstration of pot-making, but also made fun (and played tic-tac-toe!) with the children. We loved every element of it! BTW, the 1-hour boat-ride to the place itself (and back) is in itself highly enjoyable.
− The shower gave little, luke-warm water. The hike to the top of the hill gave fantastic views, but was more challenging than we anticipated (although we wouldn't have want to miss it!). Later we learned that we could have also done an easy walk to the pottery village.
