10.0Very comfortable and spacious accommodation. It was equipped with everything needed for a trip away. Well situated to travel to places of interest.
− Nothing
Beautiful but disappointing
8.0Done up to a beautiful standard. Disabled bedroom and bedroom were really good . Wonderful views. I really loved this cottage but unfortunately the negative comments below would stop me from booking again .
− The gravel for wheelchair users is not good at all . So not accessible. A wheelchair user cannot get out to the picnic table or the bins from the accessible bedroom as it has steps. The 2 nd bedroom is a mezzanine with no blinds on the skylights facing the bed which meant from 4 am the room was really bright.

9.0Easy communication. Quick responses. Beautiful accommodation and comfort. Easy access to The Lakes.
A stunning, comfortable, well equipped cottage that was fully accessible without feeling “medicalised”
10.0An exceptional cottage - places rarely live up to the pictures but the Old Piggery was the opposite. It was even nicer and more comfortable than we had expected. My mum is mobility impaired so the fully accessible downstairs bedroom and bathroom were perfect, whilst still retaining a luxury feel. The cottage was very well equipped - which was great because the weather was terrible during our stay, so we spent a lot of time indoors! Angela was responsive and helpful in relation to any questions we had and we even got to watch a farmer and his dog bring the sheep in in the neighbouring field!
− Very little - although real rather than plastic glasses would have been nicer.

8.0We booked our stay pretty last-minute through booking.com. Payment was processed right away, but then we received a slightly ambiguous email stating they were waiting for the property owner to confirm. We were absolutely delighted when Angela called to personally confirm the booking—such a nice touch! Getting to The Old Piggery was super easy—just 15 minutes from the M6. While the initial directions sent via text were a bit unclear, a quick chat sorted everything out, and we found the place without any trouble. The interior of the cottage is absolutely charming! It’s warm, inviting, and full of character, with a delightful mix of colours, rustic furniture, and exposed timbers that give it that perfect country cottage vibe. The kitchen is well-equipped, the Wi-Fi worked reliably, and you can tell the owners have gone the extra mile to make the property accessible for independent wheelchair users. The only small challenge was the loose gravel around the farm, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. It was such a peaceful and relaxing stay, surrounded by the sights and sounds of sheep and cows nearby. Truly a special retreat!
− The bathroom doors could do with catches or locks, necessary sharing with friends and colleagues. Also, the bedroom door separating the lounge would be better if it wasn't sliding. More privacy should be considered as
Great countryside getaway for the family
9.0Very thoughtfully renovated, clean, great location close to Kendal but very rural at the same time, kitchen well equipped, overall a great experience.
− The list of facilities contains toiletries which for me means shower gel, shampoo etc. therefore I didn’t bring my own. But there are no such toiletries at this apartment, which is fine if one knows upfront. Otherwise it’s an extra round to the supermarket.
