Well located, great roof top with pool, but neglected cleanliness.
6.0The apartment is located on the 8th floor of the Corundum Breeze building in Negombo, close to the beach and restaurants. It is privately rented but managed through the building, so the key was easy to collect at reception, even though I did not receive clear instructions beforehand. The flat corresponds to the description, with a functional kitchen and access to the rooftop, which has a large pool and nice views. There is also a restaurant in the building, though I did not use it. The price I paid (€95 for 2 nights) was consistent with the rates for this building.
− However, the apartment had not been adequately prepared for guests. It was dusty, with spiderwebs in several corners, a dirty carpet, and a noticeable smell of humidity that made the first night uncomfortable. After I raised this with the landlord, someone was sent to clean, but the work was quick and superficial. Mosquitoes were also present, although this is common in Negombo. In addition, the host asked me to pay in cash directly to a co-host and to settle the rest later, rather than processing the payment through Booking.com. With better cleaning and more professional handling of the payment, this could be a very good place to stay, given the location, facilities, and reasonable price.
