10.0I booked a basic single but was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary upgrade to a Deluxe Double. The room was spacious, spotless, and had a balcony overlooking the yoga deck and walking trail (currently closed). Even though it was right in the center of the property, it still felt private and relaxing. The location of the room was excellent — less than a minute to the yoga deck, pools, and restaurant. It was so convenient that I could leave my things by the pool and quickly return to my room to shower, grab something, or get ready for the next activity. The hotel itself is also in a great area: about a 15-minute walk to the beach, 1 minute to the bus stop, and just a few minutes to several great restaurants. Staff were one of the highlights. Everyone was kind and helpful, with Henry and Matthew at reception standing out for their friendliness and knowledge of tours and activities. They even arranged for security to turn on the lights at the yoga deck so I could have a small incense ceremony — a thoughtful touch that made my stay memorable. During the early wet season the property was quiet, though I imagine peak season could be livelier given the central location. Fortunately, the rooms are well insulated, so noise would likely be tolerable. The only thing I missed was having a fridge for medicine or leftovers. Overall, a wonderful stay — comfortable room, perfect location, and truly exceptional staff. Highly recommend Alma Vida for a memorable stay in Manuel Antonio.
