10.0Location perfect, near costal walk. And then very central to town. Joe, the owner, very responsive to any questions. I felt there were lovely personal touches about the house (books, games). Great to have large fridge and freezer. Also best shower ever in double room. Whole house felt clean and looked after.
− Nothing.
Very comfortable, well located self catering accommodation

The Haven was good for a short stay but lacked a personal touch to make it even better
8.0The location was excellent, within easy walking distance of the centre and close to the harbour. The house itself was comfortable with ok facilities.
− For the kitchen we had to buy our own dish cloth as only a dirty scourer was provided. The presumption seemed to be that the dishwasher would be used for everything. The house was mainly clean but not spotless. The information folder provided was fairly sparse and could have provided more info about local facilities for instance. The garden was not usable as the table and chairs were broken and stacked in a pile in the corner. For a four night stay the Haven was perfectly ok but lacked a personal touch and some attention to detail.
Great place to stay if proximity to the town is your priority.
7.0Within easy walking distance of the town made it a great choice especially on a wet wintery weekend. It was also nice and cosy once we figured out how to regulate the heating system. An en-suite with each bedroom and a view (glimpse of the sea).
− Having the living quarters and wooden floors upstairs made for noise in the bedrooms downstairs. The welcome manual was too scant. Even though I wouldn’t consider myself a luddite it is a very ‘techie house’ and therefore much more explicit and clear operating instructions are needed. Also - a simple little starter pack would have been nice - tea, milk, biscuits…
