This place needs a much better cleaning and a much friendlier host

The apartment itself serves its purposes, it has all you need if you want to cook, make coffee, do laundry and iron clothes. Aircons in both rooms worked well. Water pressure in the shower is good. We found a foldable baby cot in the closet that was not mentioned which was nice. And there was a little bit of laundry detergent abailable + there is a drying rack at the patio. Also there is a private parking spot right in front of the house where you can park your car. Note that this rental unit is the upper floor of a 2-storey house: the ground floor of this house is a separate rental unit so the garden mentioned in the description belongs more to the ground floor guests, their seating and outside dining area are in the middle of the garden so it actually feels like intruding going down there.

− I actually hate giving bad reviews and I almost never do but, this host (or his agent) was so unfriendly and so not guest-oriented that I will mention all negative sides of this apartment: 1. The floor inside the apartment and outside on the patio was very dirty. Toilet didn’t look clean, the mirror in the bathroom had traces of a dirty wiping all over, the towels smelled like smoking and after 1-2 uses they started to have a musty smell. The bed sheets also had this musty smell after one night. There is always water coming out of the aircon directly onto the patio floor right in front of the door between the living room and the patio so your feet always get wet in addition to the dirty floor. 2. Main reason our stay was disappointing: the toilet flush did not work when we arrived and the host told us that forcefully pressing 2-3 times might help but, that did not help at all. Out of emergency and because we didn’t want to wait for someone to come and fix it, my husband opened the flushing cistern and discovered that the mechanism inside has loosen up and he fixed it. But when I asked the host to give us a discount on our stay because arriving to a broken flush and fixing toilets is not something we paid a 100€ per night for, he refused saying that their “cleaning staff did not report any issues and that no discount can be given for a problem that occurred later”. Although, since they gave us an advice about pressing forcefully 2-3 times, I am sure they knew that something was wrong with the flush for a while. 3. Beware: we accidentally locked ourselves out one day and we had to pay 40€ for a locksmith because the host could not provide a spare key, he could only order a locksmith at our own costs. A better host would provide an opportunity to open the door without a locksmith or reimburse us for the costs at least which he of course refused as well. 4.
