Picturesque 130 year old spacious farmhouse, high above Weggis, with superb views and walking

This 130 year old farmhouse is set high above the lake, probably the last house before the forest. It is a beautiful, well-preserved house, and its special garden in the front has a stone trough continuously fed by icy, clean (drinkable) spring water from the mountain. The changing views and sunsets over the lake and mountains are incredible. It is obviously quiet and very peaceful, with only occasional walkers passing by. There is easy access directly from the property up the mountain (Rigi) to fine walks and popular mountain inns. The kitchen was very well-equipped and we ate most of our meals there, outside or in the dining room. There are superior barbecueing facilities outside and a sauna, neither of which we used. The house was comfortable and very roomy, and our four day experience there (two couples, and visiting friends) was absolutely delightful. A car (or taxi) is required to reach this house from Weggis, and there are many twists and turns, but it is easily managed.

Wonderful Location, exceptionally clean and friendly, very nice concierge. Well equipped kitchen. Fantastic sauna. Guests are well cared for - as shown by the extra touches such as blankets and the extra sauna towels. The house is spacious and has an old fashioned charm, which we really liked.

− It's almost perfect. The upper rooms do get very hot in summer (but fans are kindly provided). The surrounding, beautiful meadows are problematic for hay fever sufferers .
