Great size house but let down by the things that need fixing or just a general good clean

The property was nice and big.

− The house could really do with a clean. It was so dirty, all cooking and dining utensils was really dirty. The living room blinds are yellow from a lot of build up of either oil or nicotine, fag burns in the sofa, dirty plastic cups left at the side of the sofa too. When using the shower the water would leak through the big hole in the ceiling which has obviously been a problem for a long time. The skirting boards and windows was filthy. The bathroom door doesn’t shut and no lock is on the door no plug for the bath. They have parking right next to the property but for each car to park there it’s £15 each and we managed to squeeze 2 cars on where only one would fit and was told if we park there we need to pay £30 which isn’t ideal when you have small children to park away from the property.

Very dissapointing and would like a refund of £100

− After booking we went to the location that was given. we got to the waterworks cottages which there were a number of. We were not given a door number so spent so much time asking people. One lady said its probably number 3 and 4. we got the house and tried the code they gave us on both doors. None worked. Tried contacting the host with no answer. We spent two hours trying to get help. Eventually we got through to your help line and they gave us a different code to get into the house. When we got into the house it was dirty everywhere. Not at all like the photos we saw to book. The whole house needs a very deep clean. The kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom were not cleaned at all. We had a half roll of toilet paper for 4 adults. No spare ones anywhere. All paintwork hadn't been cleaned for months. So very dissappointed with this accomodation.

Would have been okay value for money if the property were up to standard.

− -Bathroom door did not have a lock or even stay closed, it would swing open into the corridor meaning we had no privacy - There were deep/large hidden dips in the top stairs, the only light for the stairs was at the top of them forcing you to go up them in the dark. The dips were hidden by the carpet and one of our party fell due to this. - The front and back doors rattle in the frames, the front door also moved away from the frame at the top when we tested if it would open from the outside - The bedsheets were stained and a hair was found in one bed - We found a used tissue, hairs and false eyelashes lying around - The furniture did not match the pictures in the listening and all of it was marked/stained - The surfaces of the bedroom cabinets/drawers and the dining table were dirty to the extent I didn't want to put anything down - The inside of the wardrobe, the mirror in the downstairs bedroom, etc.
