− Κατ αρχήν ψάχναμε σε άλλα διαμερίσματα να βρούμε το κλειδί γιατί ο κύριος που μιλήσαμε μας έδωσε λάθος οδηγίες, όταν τελικά το βρήκαμε και μπήκαμε στο σπίτι εκεί μας περίμενε μια δυσάρεστη έκπληξη, κατ αρχήν το σπίτι βρωμουσε κυριολεκτικά κλεισούρα, αράχνες σχεδόν παντού, σαμιαμιδια στο μπάνιο το ένα δωμάτιο δεν είχε φως στην κουζίνα υπήρχε τρεις κουταλιές καφέ και ένα βαζάκι ζάχαρη το οποίο ήταν και χωρίς καπάκι, όταν μιλήσαμε με τον υπεύθυνο μας έδωσε σαν λύση την επιστροφή των χρημάτων κατά το ημιση κάτι που δεν έγινε ποτέ φυσικά,σαν περιοχή πολύ όμορφη αλλά το κατάλυμα τουλάχιστον απαράδεκτο για τα λεφτά του.

The Waterfall House is a perfect refuge in a friendly mountain village.

It was perfect for exploring and hiking in the Parnassos Range. I wanted my family to experience mountain village life. The house was just off the central plateia, up a village lane and very quiet. The dwelling was a well restored 200 year old family home with wonderful modern screens that allowed the second floor to fill with mountain air and the sound of the waterfall behind the property. There was no air conditioning and it was not needed. We were recipients of Traditional Greek Filoxenia. Very few visitors were present in early June. We made friends with the shop owners and waiters and waitresses. One cook was concerned about our lack of hot water at the house. She came to our rental to check out our breakers and the furnace in the basement. She said we needed to call the rental company to request an electrician. Another waiter offered to lead us on his ATV to a better access trail to the cave above Variani. It helped to speak Greek. But many villagers wanted to use English.

− The hot water didn’t work. I lived in Greece 50 years ago. Hot water was variable especially in the country and with multiple people in your party. I learned to take cold showers back then. So we endured and waited for the electrician. Even after his visit while we were away on Mt Parnassos, the hot water lasted 5 minutes. I would like to request 25% off my payment for the rental to compensate for the lack of hot water.
