We had a very nice holiday at a property with character.
8.0Nice view from the terrace (lake Orta). Very nice location to swim in the lake (the 'dock', only for inhabitants of the property). Nicely renovated property with character. Also the direct surroundings of the property. Private feeling despite sharing of the property with others. Nice things to to do in the neighborhood (mountain Mottarone with 'Alpyand'; waterfall; the village of Orta-San Giulio....we brought as well a visit to Milano (one hour drive)). Enthusiastic host.
− The nice surroundings contrasted highly with the noise from the main road, like when relaxing on the terrace (especially from the motorcycles that pass quite often). It is a road where a lot of traffic pass and the noise reaches the terrace/house easily. This was much less a problem for the dock. When walking to the (nice) village of Orta-San Giulio, one needs to do this via the main road where there is no place foreseen for pedestrians; this is thus not really relaxing (5 to 10 min or so on this road). The matrass of one of the beds was not good (too thin).
