Despite its faults, at the price it’s offered at we’d stay again.

The property was away from the main busy areas of Coventry and was a lot cheaper than any other property of a similar size.

− We asked to arrive between 16.00 and 17.00, at around 16.15 we had a call to say that the accommodation wouldn’t be ready as it hadn’t been cleaned. They gave us the option to come along later or sit in the house while the cleaners were there, we opted to have a look around for a couple of hours to not stress the cleaners. On arrival we found the back door unlocked with no key to lock it, this was sorted out after a phone call to the owner, who sent someone out to lock the door, and also replace the hand towels which they’d forgotten to do. The property can sleep up to 8 people, but on this occasion there were only 3 of us. Despite this we had to go out and purchase simple things like a bigger frying pan as the small 1-2 person pan just wasn’t adequate. As well as this small frying pan there were also just 2 small saucepans and a larger pan. After returning to the property after our second day it became apparent that someone had been in while we were out. A message to booking.com was sent and a promise that it wouldn’t happen again after a message to the hosts. It’s nice to be able to leave valuables and personal items around without feeling that someone has been in the home. Cleanliness - there were a few things that I didn’t like, the worst being the collection of finger or toe nails behind my bedside cupboard, which I’d moved out slightly to plug in my phone charger, I can only assume that these were missed by the cleaners who were in a rush to get ready for us. Not sure about the toilet brush upstairs but the downstairs was in a bad state and also falls apart every time it’s used. I bought a bottle of bleach and gave it a clean but I think it may be beyond help. The downstairs shower grout lines were quite caked in something, again, maybe the cleaners were rushed, but it must of built up over some time. Some of it came off quite easily with just the shower aimed at it.
