Excellent location in St. Augustin Etla
8.0The location is excellent--within a 5-minute walk to the Centro de Artes, an excellent coffee shop with outdoor and indoor seating, a restaurant (Casa Blanca) with new menu items every day, a quiet bar at the hotel across the street, collectivo taxis at the corner, and miles of interesting walks in the countryside. Our two bedrooms were spacious and had lots of natural light, and the "sun room" had excellent mountain views, but no comfortable chairs and no table. We were met at check-in and check-out by a young man who arrived on time and provided a very brief introduction in Spanish to our room and the community kitchen.
− The kitchen needs one or two good pots and pans and a stand for the bottled water. Windows in the bedrooms need screens. No blankets were provided, so we used the bedspreads from the beds we weren't using. Some areas smelled of mildew, especially the walk-in closet. The garden needs care. The internet does not work. The host needs to provide guests with some printed information. We were the only ones there, and even though the building is beautiful, overall the place feels abandoned.
